Step into the future of fitness with these awesome products!

Welcome to a new year Shesique fans! Almost half of Americans set New Year’s resolutions on December 31st and for 66% of the population, at least one of those goals included fitness and losing weight. Sadly, only 8% of people will achieve their goals and resolutions this year. Fortunately, all of us at Shesique are here to help ensure our readers don’t become just another statistic. 2016 isn’t just any year—this is YOUR year! Go beyond the yoga pants and take your workout to the next level this year with the rising trend of high-tech workout gear and accessories which are built directly into your clothing. The phrase “there’s an app for that” has never been more true. Check out some of the most talked about “smart” products below.

Adidas miCoach Seamless Sports Bra
  • Retail Price: $54.95 (Transmitter and compatible electronics sold separately)
  • Details: A transmitter snaps into a small pocket located at the front of the bra. The transmitter can be paired with a compatible heart rate monitoring sports watch, smartphones and cardio equipment.
  • Pros: The bra is super comfortable and very stylish! It comes in several fun, vibrant colors such as Berry Blast and Electric Blue. The transmitter helps monitor your heart-rate without the need for uncomfortable sensors or straps across your body.
  • Cons: The style runs small which can cause the transmitter to create a bulk under tight workout shirts, especially when worn by small chested women. The sensor in the elastic of the bra needs to be wet with water prior to your workout in order for the heart rate monitor to pick up the signal. This pairing only works as long as the sensors remain wet with sweat or water.
Athos Capris
  • Retail Price: $348 for Athos pants and Athos Core
  • Details: Twelve bio-sensors send information about muscle use to a small ‘Core’ device that locks into the pants. The results can be viewed in real time through the Athos app.
  • Pros: Center back zip pocket helps keep smartphone and other essentials secure. The sensors are able to track “muscle effort,” which shows how hard each specific muscle is firing. This is great for weightlifting exercises and can help you determine which side is being favored during your workout.
  • Cons: The capris cannot be worn with undergarments in order to receive a complete and accurate reading.
Jabra Sport Pulse Wireless Earbuds
  • Retail Price: $199
  • Details: Wireless sports earbuds with integrated running app and in-ear heart rate monitor optimized for running.
  • Pros: The chargeable earbuds are a snug fit and provide solid Dolby quality sound. They are built towards US military rain, shock, sand and dust standards which makes them perfect for intense workouts. The Jabra app is able to track your run and record your heart-rate. Music playback, volume and incoming calls can all be controlled with a simple tap on the earbuds.
  • Cons: The Jabra Sound app only imports downloaded iTunes songs and not other streaming music.
Sensoria Socks
  • Retail Price: $199 for smart socks, electronic anklet, anklet charger and mobile app
  • Details: The socks are infused with proprietary 100% textile sensors. They pair with a Bluetooth-enabled anklet which sends information to the Sensoria app.
  • Pros: In addition to distance, speed, altitude and steps, the app is also able to track foot-landing technique and cadence which may help you identify injury-prone running styles. It also lets you see how different sneakers affect your workout and performance.
  • Cons: The starter kit includes one anklet, but you’ll need to purchase a second anklet in order to track information from both feet.
Under Armour Fly Fast Luminous ½ Zip
  • Retail Price: $89.99
  • Details: The jacket’s luminous print body is designed to catch light for greater outdoor visibility at nighttime.
  • Pros: Under Armour’s signature Moisture Transport System material wicks sweat to keep you dry and light. A zippered pocket in the arm is perfect to secure personal items. Comfy thumbholes keep sleeves secure and help to seal in body heat when the weather cools down.
  • Cons: The jacket doesn’t reflect dim lights well and only reflects high beams of light when hit from a certain angle. It is not recommended that this jacket be worn as the only piece of reflective gear during a nighttime run.
